A day at the beach

I decided to bike south today. Once the lakeshore path swung inward at South Shore, I figured I’d just keep biking until it found the lake again. I had no idea just how far that was going to take me.

I didn’t see the lake again until just before I hit Indiana. Calumet Park sits on Lake Michigan in the shadow of the towering coal-powered State Line Generating Plant in Hammond, Indiana.

All in all, I biked 20+ miles, took 700+ photos, saw 3 parks I hadn’t been to before, a rainstorm, a rainbow, a sunset and a moonrise.

Quite a day, really.
